For 2 decades Shealy has wielded his guitar and voice, crafting original songs and performing with various bands.
While the term “southern rock” might come to mind with the band’s electric guitars and driving drums, The Jack Shealy Band offers something more distinctive—a steel guitar sound that captivates discerning listeners. With soulful vocals, swampy slide guitar, and a tight-knit rocking ensemble, they deliver heartfelt originals alongside crowd-pleasing covers. Originally founded in 2004 as Red Dirt Mojo, the band transitioned throughout the years with several player lineups.
The sounds of southern-soul, rock, American folk, and the swamp roots of old Florida echo in the bands’ live sound.
In 2012, Shealy took a hiatus from live performances to enjoy fatherhood and pursue
a career in tourism, marketing, television and film.
Music continued to play a part of Shealy’s through hosting jams, festivals & events in South Florida.
2020 brought to light things that were important for many of us.
“I realized how quickly time passes and the value of music for what it does for folks .”
The first show was February 2021 billed as THE JACK SHEALY BAND.
Less than a year later, THE JACK SHEALY BAND has been booked opening for
national acts and music festivals building a grassroots following from Florida into the Midwest.
Shealy’s authentic southern swagger, lyrics and storytelling have become a pillar of the bands live perform.
An advocate for Old Florida Culture and its wild places, Shealy's music echos the story of the swamps he calls home.
