The Jack Shealy Band
Jack Shealy, a native son of the Florida Everglades, is the driving force behind The Jack Shealy Band—an ensemble as authentic as the swamps they call home. For more than two decades, Shealy has written songs and performed across the South, blending his lifelong love of music with the culture and stories of the place that raised him. A passionate advocate for preserving Old Florida heritage and its wild landscapes, his songwriting reflects the rhythm of life in the Glades—where the air is thick, the stories run deep, and music carries the spirit of the land.
While the band’s electric guitars and driving rhythms nod to Southern rock traditions, The Jack Shealy Band delivers a sound uniquely their own. Swampy slide guitar, soulful vocals, and the distinctive cry of steel guitar weave together with tight, roots-driven musicianship to create a raw blend of Southern soul, rock, and Americana. Their music captures the feeling of a slow ride through the Deep South—equal parts grit, groove, and storytelling.
Shealy first formed a band in 2004 with Red Dirt Mojo, a project that evolved through several lineups while shaping the swamp-rooted sound that would later define his work. In 2012, he stepped away from full-time performing to focus on fatherhood and build a career in tourism, marketing, television, and film. Even during that time, music remained central to his life through hosting jams, festivals, and community events throughout South Florida.
In 2021, Shealy returned to the stage with renewed purpose, launching The Jack Shealy Band. Within a year, the band was performing at festivals and opening for national touring acts, building a grassroots following from Florida into the Midwest. Known for powerful live shows and honest storytelling, the band continues to grow its audience through touring, festivals, and independent releases.
Rooted in the culture of the Everglades, Shealy’s music carries the voice of Old Florida—its people, its wild places, and the hardworking communities that call it home. As Shealy puts it:
“To me, music is energy. The sound we make has those Southern roots and that vibe. It wasn’t planned—it just happened. That’s what makes it real. It’s about telling our story and our way of life… and folks seem to dig it.”
